Last night we received an e-mail from our accountant in India who also happens to be our power of attorney. It was such beautiful English, he said, "We are personally pushing up the matter at Bangalore with ROC.
Shall get back to you in case any help is required." I am not mocking his English because I can't even speak another language (yet) but I do love the way Indians phrase things sometimes. It's refreshing and sometimes a little confusing.
Our friend in Delhi also made a phone call to our accountant and said he still is very hopeful that everything will be complete by the 25th Jan. We shall sit tight, pray and wait to see.
I can't remember if I did a post about the fact that we have been offered an apartment in Bangalore. They will hold it for us until April. It is a 4 bedroom apartment but other than that we know little else. They are going to send us some photo's sometime.
We had dinner the other night at Ben and Vinu's place and they had also invited another Kiwi lady who has spent about 30 years in India and Nepal. As soon as I saw her and found out her name, I realised I had known her from about 20 years ago and had done gymnastics with her daughter for a few years. Her husband had died in Nepal years ago and her daughter Rosalind was made blind in one eye after a caterpillar hair got into it. She still remained in Nepal with her 4 daughters and has never stopped doing the work she had begun with her husband despite him passing away. She is a very strong, determined lady and someone who we know will pop in for a cuppa in Bangalore. It is such a very small world.
